Guest blogger Kayla to get you ready for spring

I would like to introduce my first guest blogger, Kayla Leboeuf!

Kayla is an Army veteran, model, skin care professional, and a great friend of mine!

Kayla, Mary Kay Consultant

I’ve asked her to share some advice to prepare use for spring and summer, so here you go:

Sunny Skies Ahead!
With the beautiful spring season quickly approaching, we are all looking forward to spending more time outdoors.  As appealing as this is, more time spent outside also means greater exposure to the sun’s harmful rays.  Many of us don’t have sun protection at the top of our spring priority list, but we most definitely should! UV rays burn your skin, cause premature aging, and without proper protection can lead to skin cancer in the future.  Even if you have a darker skin complexion, you are still just as much at risk – The sun does not discriminate based on skin tone or gender (that means guys need to take care of their skin too).  The good news is that there are many ways to protect yourself from sun damage, and I have the knowledge and tools to keep you safe!
Regardless of the attire you wear, your face is exposed to the sun every day so daily facial SPF is highly recommended.  Mary Kay offers the Timewise moisturizer SPF 30 for the ladies, and the Advanced facial hydrator SPF 30 for the guys.  These options give you the needed protection combined with moisture.
For your body: Generously apply sunscreen to all exposed skin 15 minutes before going outdoors.  Your sunscreen should have a Sun Protection Factor (SPF) of at least 30 and provide broad spectrum protection from UVA and UVB rays.  Our MK Sun Care Sunscreen comes in SPF 30 & 50 – It’s lightweight, oil-free formula can be used on the face or body to protect and replenish skin.
Don’t forget to protect your lips!  Our Lip Protector SPF 15 provides invisible protection for the lips and guards from the drying effects of the sun and wind.
Forgot to apply sunscreen or spent a bit too long under the sun?  Not to worry, the After-Sun Replenishing Gel is a cooling treat for sun or wind burned skin and leaves skin feeling soft instead of sticky like traditional Aloe Vera formulas.
Have your heart set on that sun-kissed glow from tanning?  With our Subtle Tanning Lotion, you can build up sun-free color in about a week.  This lightweight, non-greasy formula glides on evenly and absorbs quickly for color that won’t rub off (safe to use on face).
If you have any sun protection questions or would like additional spring skincare or cosmetic advice, feel free to contact me anytime.  You can also visit my personal website to browse the entire e-catalog online.
